St. John the Evangelist Church is located at the entrance junction of Artashat city in the Ararat province. It is constructed from a variety of tuff stone shades, highlighting the rich heritage of traditional Armenian architecture. The church features a large bell tower, with the dome and bell tower roof designed in a fan-like shape, gracefully connecting its bold forms with the surrounding natural environment.
The church’s façade is adorned with intricate, vibrant motifs, underscoring the fine traditions of Armenian sacred art and ornamentation. The interior space is bright and inviting, with natural light and the interplay of traditional tuff accentuating the ambiance.
Commissioned in 2004 and completed in 2015, this beautiful structure not only serves as a center of faith but also stands as a symbol of local culture and history.
